Gold Coast Titans vs Penrith Panthers Prediction - Round 16 2026

19/06/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

It’s been hot and cold in recent weeks with the Titans, who have a huge upset against the Broncos and lost to the Tigers the next week.

For the Panthers, a bye arrived crucially as they continue to have only lost once this season, and that was before Origin was in the picture.

While the Origin stars on the Panthers will be rested, the Titans’ Origin stars will back up for their home game against the best team in the competition.

It will take a lot for the Titans to beat the Panthers, which they haven’t done since 2019.

For the latest news, odds and analysis ahead of the latest installment of this recent matchup, check out our Titans vs Panthers tips and predictions below.

Titans vs Panthers Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Josh Hannay has named his side with his two Origin stars in Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Jojo Fifita, pushing Klese Haas and Jaylan De Groot to the bench.

Chris Randall remains on the sidelines for another week after failing a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) against the Broncos.

The Panthers’ Origin stars have been named on the reserves list, but given Cleary’s injury news before Game 2, expect them not to play the Titans.

Jack Cogger gets an opportunity to play halfback and Izack Tago jumps into centre after Casey McLean injured his quad prior to Game 2 of the Origin series.

This shuffles Paul Alamoti to the wing, and assuming Isaah Yeo doesn’t play, Lindsay Smith will play the lock role.

Given the Panthers’ dominance this season and how they have beaten the Titans in every game since 2019, we expect the Panthers to continue their winning ways.

Betting tip: Penrith Panthers

First Try Scorer Prediction

The Titans have conceded 44% of tries on their right edge to their opponents, leaving their opponents’ left edge poised to reap the rewards.

Tom Jenkins has also scored the first try of the game this season, and with the Titans leaking 36 points last round, it wouldn’t be surprising if a similar result happens on Saturday night.

Betting tip: Thomas Jenkins.

Over/Under Prediction

Each of Penrith's last six interstate matches has gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under (48.5) total match points

Line Prediction

The Titans have covered this line in three consecutive games, two of those being in losses.

Betting tip: Titans (+12.5) line
