Canberra Raiders vs Sydney Roosters Prediction – Round 14 2026

04/06/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The Canberra Raiders and Sydney Roosters face off under the Friday nights in what promises to be a cold but compelling contest.

Last year’s minor premiers have upset a very in form Cowboys side at home, while the Roosters struggled against the Storm with bad performances from their Origin stars.

Trent Robinson’s side still remain third on the ladder, but face a tough month navigating the Origin period, with games against the Raiders, Dolphins, Sharks and Broncos on the horizon.

In terms of lineups heading into the contest, the Raiders see several changes, while the Roosters remain unchanged despite suffering a 14 point loss to the Storm.

For the latest news, odds and analysis ahead of this match, check out our Raiders vs Roosters tips and predictions below.

Storm vs Roosters Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

For the Raiders, Daine Laurie shifts to centre to cover for Seb Kris, who is sidelined with concussion, while Jayden Brailey returns from his own concussion to slot in at lock and Joe Roddy comes back from a hand injury to return to join an extended six-man bench.

The Roosters named an unchanged side, but good news shines through as Mark Nawaqanitawase joins the extended squad as he chases a return from the syndesmosis injury that required surgery back in Round 9.

Whether Ethan Strange continues to be the NSW Blue five-eighth for Game 2 or Mitch Moses returns remains to be seen, but this match could play a pivotal role in deciding who pairs up with Cleary as he faces a side in the Roosters with five Origin players.

With the Raiders having won four of their last five games against the Roosters, momentum and home ground advantage firmly sit with Canberra, and a win here would further fuel the belief that the Green Machine can still make the eight despite their inconsistencies this season.

Canberra has won seven of its last eight home matches against teams on a losing streak.

Betting tip: Canberra Raiders.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Hudson Young has been one of the Raiders’ best players this season, scoring tries and averaging the most run metres of any Raiders forward.

His creative skillset and being an elite ball playing threat make him a strong candidate to dot down first at a fired-up GIO Stadium.

Betting tip: Hudson Young.

Over/Under Prediction

Each of Canberra's last seven Friday night matches has gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Over (49.5) total match points

Line Prediction

The Raiders have defeated the Roosters in four of their past five meetings and covered the line when they played the tri-colour side.

Betting tip: Raiders (+2.5) line
