North Queensland Cowboys vs The Dolphins Prediction – Round 14 2026

05/06/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The state of Queensland blew the lead in Game One of State of Origin, but they dominated the Saturday night schedule in Round 14.

The Cowboys and Dolphins face off in a game that both sides could use a victory, as both pursue the same goal: making the finals.

Dolphins return from having a bye and get their Origin stars back, while the Cowboys also welcome key personnel of their own after losing poorly in Canberra.

It will be the battle of the centres from both sides that could make the difference between winning and losing this contest.

Queensland Country Bank Stadium is set for an entertaining attacking clinic as we get closer to the second major bye round.

For the latest news, odds and analysis ahead of the latest installment of this rivalry, check out our Cowboys vs Dolphins tips and predictions below.

Cowboys vs Dolphins Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The Dolphins return from the bye riding a four-game winning streak and receive massive inclusions.

Reuben Cotter and Soni Luke return for the Cowboys, giving them some needed depth in the forward pack, while Thomas Mikaele has been named despite suffering a knee concern last week.

Herbie Farnworth and Jack Bostock go up against Jaxon Purdue and Tom Chester, who is among the top players for linebreaks this season.

With Patrick Carrigan ruled out of Game Two, both of these teams will also be looking for big performances from their forward packs.

Although the Dolphins have averaged 33.5 points per game across their winning streak, the Cowboys have been good at home this season and could provide an upset despite having the home-field advantage.

Betting tip: North Queensland Cowboys.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Selwyn Cobbo is our pick for the first try of the game and with his size and physicality, he is the kind of player who can get early ball and do some damage to start the game.

Betting tip: Selwyn Cobbo.

Each of the last four matches between North Queensland and the Dolphins has gone over the total match points line.

Betting tip: Over (55.5) total match points.

North Queensland has covered the line in seven of its last eight home matches against teams ranked higher on the ladder.
