The name’s Bond, James Bond. But just whose name will be announced as the next 007?

It’s been four years since ‘No Time to Die’, the final installment of Daniel Craig’s tenure as the super spy hit our screens - yet still no successor has been announced.

Plenty of names have been floated in that time, and just recently, allegedly, one of them has officially been offered the part.

Nothing is set in stone yet; however, now with a director chosen, there are still several names in contention to be cast in the coveted role as the next James Bond for Director Denis Villeneuve.

It’s not just who will play the famous character that has captured people’s imagination, with Sportsbet offering markets for Who will Sing the Next Bond Theme.

It’s for that reason that we’ve offered up our best predictions for both, as well as for who will be named the next James Bond for Director Denis Villeneuve? Keep reading to check them out!

Who Will be the Next James Bond?

Aaron Pieree

The 31-year-old Brit would be a popular choice and is currently the favourite to land the role. Which is a remarkable rise considering, according to some, he wasn’t even in the frame two weeks ago.

Having played recent high-profile roles in ‘Old’, ‘Rebel Ridge’ and ‘Mufasa- The Lion King’, He’d be continuing a good stretch of form and roles should he land this one.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Yes, the kid who played Kickass is all grown up and is well in the running to take on the role of 007.

It’s been reported that he had been offered the part once and, as a result, sits as one of the leading contenders for the role. Whether he accepts the offer is an entirely different matter, however, and just like in the movies themselves, anything can happen.

Jacob Elordi

The only Aussie among the leading contenders for the role, Elordi could follow in the footsteps of George Lazenby, who played the great Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Best known for his role in the TV drama Euphoria and Sofia Coppola’s ‘Pricilla’, Elordi has responded to rumours previously that were linking him to the role, saying that he was chuffed that people wanted to see him in the role.

As Australians, we’re of course hoping that he makes it to the pointy end of casting considerations.

Harry Dickinson

Harris Dickinson has emerged as a leading contender for the role of James Bond in the upcoming "Bond 26," directed by Denis Villeneuve and produced under Amazon MGM Studios. At 28, Dickinson aligns with the studio's preference for a British actor under 30 to rejuvenate the franchise.

His notable performances in films like The King's Man and Babygirl have showcased his versatility and depth, making him a strong candidate for the iconic role. With the film's release anticipated around 2028, Dickinson's age and rising profile position him as a compelling choice for the next 007.

Tom Holland

Best known for his recent exploits playing Spider-Man, Holland is among the leading contenders to be the next 007. He's a talented actor with charisma and global recognition; his youthful appearance may work against traditional expectations for the Bond character.

The producers have reportedly been seeking an older actor for a more mature version of 007. Still, Holland’s star power and versatility could keep him in the conversation for a future reboot or spin on the franchise.

Tom Hardy

Another actor who has long been linked with the role whenever this topic comes up is English heartthrob Tom Hardy.

While believed to be back in the pecking order, Hardy is a true fan favourite with admirers all over Hollywood. His diversity as an actor will put him in good stead to potentially land this part.

Who Will Sing the Next Bond Theme?

Dua Lipa

British pop sensation Dua Lipa has already had huge success making music for the movies, thanks to her smash hit Dance the Night which was created specifically for Barbie.

It’s not hard to picture her crooning the next Bond banger, and that’s why she is currently the favourite in the overall betting for this market.

Lady Gaga

Hollywood appears to have gone gaga for Lady G, who has been appearing in many a movies in recent years.

She’s doing so well as an actress, you’d be forgiven for forgetting what a super songstress she is. A Bond theme would be another fitting achievement on her ever-growing resume.

Lana Del Rey

Need a slow, sad, seductive song? Better call Lana. Stylistically, she would make the perfect performer for a Bond theme.

Hell, she has plenty of tracks that could already be Bond bangers, so don’t be surprised if she is tapped to officially record a song for the franchise.

RAYE

Rounding out the list of viable candidates for who will sing the next Bond theme is rising star RAYE.

One of the hottest stars in British music at the moment, the Prada singer recently swept the Brit Awards, thrusting herself firmly into the limelight.

Bond films often gravitate to the hottest stars to sing their song, so that makes RAYE a very realistic option indeed.
