Golden State Valkyries reached the WNBA Finals after finishing second in the regular-season standings, going 32-12. The Atlanta Dream finished fourth, going 30-14.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Valkyries would need three games to win 2-1 against the Dallas Wings, having been beaten in the second one in overtime. The Dream defeated the Washington Mystics 2-0 over their series.

The semi-finals would see both teams record 3-0 clean sweeps, with the Valkyries defeating the Las Vegas Aces as the Dream beat the New York Liberty. Both had home advantage in those series.

It’s impressive from the Valkyries, as they are barely into their second season as an expansion team. Winning against the Aces in the semis was impressive, as they had won three of the past four WNBA titles.

Gabby Williams is the standout for the Golden State Valkyries, while Atlanta Dream’s leading names are Allisha Gray, Angel Reese and Rhyne Howard.

Betting Markets to Watch

The Golden State Valkyries have been made the overall favourites to win the 2026 WNBA Finals in the latest futures odds. As the second seeds, the Valkyries host Games 1 and 2, plus Games 5 and 7 if required.

That gives them the deciding game at home in a long series and could come to their advantage if needed. They were excellent at home in the regular season, going 17-5.

The Dream picked up toward the end of the season, going 9-1 over their last 10 games, and were 15-7 across home and away games.

However, Williams could be the decider. She enters the Finals averaging 22.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.8 steals, having helped Golden State sweep defending champions Las Vegas in the semifinals.

Her scoring and defensive versatility give them a strong two-way focal point.

Questions are being raised about Gray, as Atlanta’s regular-season leading scorer averaged 22 points per game, but her shooting hand injury raises significant concerns about her availability and effectiveness.

With the series winner, Finals MVP and game-by-game markets all in play, it is worth brushing up on how to bet on NBA basketball before locking in a position.

Our Prediction

Check the latest WNBA betting odds at Sportsbet.

The WNBA Finals should be a close-run affair and could require all seven games.

Our pick is the Golden State Valkyries as the likely winners, with their home advantage, Williams’ form, and Gray’s doubts among the chief reasons.

Williams, to be named the MVP, has value in the Player Awards market, with Gray as our long shot.
