The first semi-final game at the 2025 EuroBasket (Saturday, September 14, 02:00 AEST) will see Turkey and Greece square off at the Xiaomi Arena, Riga, Latvia.

Turkey are undefeated so far in the tournament and have taken over the main favourite role in the competition. Greece had their ups and downs in the group stage, but can they cause an upset in this semi-final game?

Turkey vs Greece: Betting Preview

Turkey is one of the two still undefeated teams at the 2025 EuroBasket. In fact, they have been so good that none of their opponents has even come close to winning.

Turkey are coming off a 91-77 win over Poland in the quarter-finals. They got the job done in the second quarter, winning that period by 14 points, the winning margin at the end. Alperen Sengun looked impressive again, recording a triple-double of 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. They shot 42.3% from three-point territory, proving once again that they are excellent from distance.

Greece lost to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the group stage, but that loss had no consequences at all. They dusted themselves off ready for the quarter-final stage, and defeated Lithuania 76-87. As usual, Giannis Antetokounmpo was on top of his game, recording 29 points and 6 rebounds.

Looking at the head-to-head matchups, Greece has won 9 of the last 10, including the last eight.

Results have included:

Greece won 89-80 in 2022

Greece won 76-67 in 2022

Greece won 72-71 in 2022

Greece won 81-63 in 2021

Greece won 84-70 in 2019

Turkey vs Greece: Betting Predictions

Turkey and Greece were not among the top tier of favourites to win the 2025 EuroBasket heading into the competition, but they fully deserve a chance to play for a spot in the final.

Turkey have been dominant throughout the entire competition, while Greece showed signs of vulnerability. Sengun and Antetokounmpo have both had a fantastic tournament, and it is safe to say that whoever shines brightest here will most likely spur their team on to the final.

Turkey has stronger offensive weapons like Cedi Osman and Furkan Korkmaz, both with significant NBA experience. Still, Sengun is the main man, and it will be interesting to see if Antetokounmpo will be the one to defend him.

The Greek Freak is unstoppable in his own way, but he will need plenty of support in such an important game. Point guard Kostas Sloukas may be the difference maker for Greece. He has what it takes to have the ball in crucial moments and be unshakable from the free-throw line.

Turkey is a slight favourite given the odds, but we think Greece will stay in the game, and at least cover the handicap.
