Germany has been the most consistent team at the 2025 EuroBasket and the main favourite to win the competition. The Finnish players, meanwhile, are facing one of the biggest, if not the biggest, match of their careers.

So, will Germany steamroller them, as in their group stage showdown, Or will Finland put up more of a fight in their semi-final game scheduled for Saturday, September 13, at 02:00 AM.

Germany vs Finland: Betting Preview

Germany is one of the few teams still unbeaten in the tournament, and has the biggest point margin among all the teams. One of those wins came in the group stage against Finland, with a huge 91-61 final score.

They are coming off a 99-91 quarterfinal win over Slovenia, the biggest challenge for Germany so far in the tournament. Germany were behind for much of the match, but showed their winning mentality once again, winning the final quarter 29-17.

Franz Wagner is averaging 27.3 points per game, while Dennis Schroder is at 27.2.

Finland has perhaps been the greatest story of the tournament. No one really believed this team would make any noise in the tournament, but here they are playing for a place in the final. After stunning Serbia in the round of 16, Finland had no problem beating Georgia in the quarterfinals, 93-79.

Lauri Markkanen is the third-best scorer in the tournament, averaging 28.7 points per game.

Germany vs Finland: Betting Predictions

For the first time in the tournament, Germany were put to a real test in the quarter-final game against Slovenia. They were down most of the game and needed an impressive fourth quarter to survive. The confidence of Alex Mumbru’s team is at a top level, and that will be the case in the semi-final match against Finland as well.

Finland, on the other hand, went way deeper in the tournament than anyone could have expected. However, they fully deserve the chance to play for a place in the final – and his team is much more than just Lauri Markkanen. Finland are quick in transition from defense to offense.

This will be the biggest game in the career of most of the Finnish players, while the Germans won the FIBA World Cup two years ago. There is no doubt Germany is the big favourite, mainly because they beat Finland by 30 points in the group stage, but Finland will not go down without a fight. The given spread is a little too big in favor of Germany, so no matter how good they are, Finland will be able to cover the handicap.

When it comes to the player props, Markkanen will have to be very aggressive and take the responsibility in such a big game.
