MotoGP: Aragon Grand Prix Betting Preview

The eighth round of action in the MotoGP World Championship heads to MotorLand Aragon for the Aragon Grand Prix on Sunday (22:00 pm AEST).

Here’s everything you need to know about this thrilling race.

Aragon Grand Prix: Circuit Profile

The Circuito de Alcaniz, or MotorLand Aragon to give its more commercial name, has hosted a MotoGP event every year since 2010 (bar 2023).

With fiddly bends and hairpins as well as fast straights, the Circuito de Alcaniz is a fair test of riding that rewards both the rider’s prowess and the providence of their bike.

It’s perhaps no wonder then that Marc Marquez, considered by many to be the best rider in MotoGP history, is a six-time winner here.

MotoGP World Championship 2025 Standings

Having flown out of the blocks this season with three wins from the opening four MotoGP races, Marquez leads the way in the championship standings.

His younger brother, Alex, is second after winning the Spanish MotoGP in Jerez, while Francesco Bagnaia – who won the Motorcycle Grand Prix of the Americas – is next in third place.

Surprise wins for Johann Zarco and Marco Bezzecchi in France and England respectively have propelled them up to fifth and seventh.

Aragon Grand Prix: Key Betting Info

At Sportsbet, you can bet on the Aragon Grand Prix as well as the latest MotoGP World Championship betting odds, with Marc Marquez currently leading the way as the red hot favourite.

The Spaniard hasn’t won the title since 2019, but with six championships to his name is the most decorated rider in MotoGP still currently competing.

Marquez hasn’t won any of the last three races, but he finished on the podium in two of those and continues to thrive on his Ducati machine.

Between 2012 and 2024, the Aragon GP was won ten times by Spanish riders, so it would be a fair bet to suggest that history will repeat itself in 2025.

Both of the Marquez brothers would be considered viable contenders – Marc won this race during the 2024 season, while Alex has finished either first or second in four of his seven starts this term.

Francesco Bagnaia is another that will command respect. The 2023 and 2023 MotoGP world champion has a decent record at the Circuito de Alcaniz, having won here in 2021 and finishing as runner-up a year later.

The Italian has found some form early in the 2025 season too, having won in America and recorded three other podium finishes.

Those seeking a value bet may take a look at Marco Bezzecchi, who has some interesting convergent trends to his name.

The Italian finally got a tune out of his Aprilia at Silverstone last time out, winning the British MotoGP, and he showed a real fondness for the Circuito de Alcaniz last year by climbing from 13th on the grid to finish sixth.
