Saturday Racing Tips - 19 September
Caulfield Saturday Race Tips
Track rating Good 4 on Wednesday. Rail out 7m.
Insignificant occasional showers expected. This track will race in the Good range.
Caulfield Racecourse Track Overview
The famous Caulfield racetrack has a 150-year history of providing outstanding racing in Victoria. Known as “The Heath”, it is the home of the iconic Caulfield Cup.
This week features the $1m G1 Sportsbet Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) and the $1m G1 Underwood Stakes (1800m). Discover Caulfield race tips, backed by Australia’s leading horse racing experts.
Race 1 (12.10 pm AEST) Cap D’Antibes Stakes (1100m)
Back them both. Politely Dun was impressive when he won over this course and trip last time out. He looks to have turned the corner. Chris Waller’s Enviable had no luck last time. Damian Lane rides from a good draw. Trips suits. Back one and save on the other.

Race 3 (1.15 pm AEST) Benchmark 100 Handicap (1100m)
Hot first-up. Sydney gelding Bev’s Nine resumes here. His form is impeccable. Unbeaten when fresh, and this is his pet distance. Recent Sydney trial form his good.

Race 7 (3.35 pm AEST) Underwood Stakes (1800m)
The Waller factor. Top trainer Chris Waller seems to have this race covered, although he has scratched Aeliana. Lindermann comes to Melbourne after a solid all-the-way win in the G2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m). He will lead again and should get his own way.

Race 9 (4.50 pm AEST) Sportsbet Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m)
Class factor. Lady Shenandoah is the class mare of the race. She will be better for her first-up fourth behind Autumn Glow in the Winx. Not badly weighted with 56.5kg. Barrier one should see her get the right run. The saving bet is on Regal Award, an enigmatic galloper who has been trialling brilliantly.

Race 10 (5.25 pm AEST) Benchmark 84 Handicap (1400m)
Distance suits. Fundamental Nature has returned from a break in great form. She hits the line hard, and trainer Ciaron Maher has better races in store.
She’s also entered for race 4 at Randwick in Sydney. She can win that race if Maher sends her there.

Randwick Saturday Race Tips
Track rating Soft 5 on Wednesday. Rail out 6m.
Fine and warm weather throughout the week should ensure a good surface.
Randwick Racecourse Track Overview
Sydney’s premier racetrack, Royal Randwick. Owned and operated by the Australian Turf Club, Randwick is home to The Everest, Doncaster Handicap and Sydney Cup.
This week features the $1m G2 Seven Sunrise Stakes (1600m), the $1m G2 The Shorts (1100m), and the third leg of the Princess Series, the $300k G2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m).

Race 4 (1.35 pm AEST) Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m)
On the up, distance suits. Fundamental Nature is racing in great form in Melbourne. The 1400m looks ideal for her as she has a big finish. She’s also engaged in Race 9 at Caulfield, which she can win. Follow her wherever trainer Ciaron Maher chooses to run.

Race 6 (2.45 pm AEST) Kingston Town Stakes (2000m)
Gets his right distance. The 2026 Australian Derby winner, Green Spaces, gets to 2000m at his third run from a spell. Expect a more positive ride from Rachel King, and it will take a good one to beat him.

Race 7 (3.20 pm AEST) Tea Rose Stakes (1400m)
Good last time. Striking Alibi has joined the Waller stable after some outstanding performances in Perth.
She flashed home late for third behind Bangkok Hottie and Chilly Girl in the Furious Stakes (1200m). Expect her to test them in this.

Race 9 (4.35 pm AEST) The Shorts (1100m)
Outstanding first-up. Ninja was brilliant when he won the Missile Stakes. He’s had a soft trial since, so he will be ready for this $1m sprint, which has attracted a hot field. Spacious Randwick is his track.

Gold Coast Saturday Race Tips
Track rated Soft 5 on Wednesday. Rail true.
Saturday metro racing returns to the Gold Coast. It’s warming up on the Coast with temperatures in the high-20s from Thursday to Saturday. Expect a good surface.
Gold Coast Racecourse Track Overview
The tight Gold Coast Racing Track at Southport is the home of the Magic Millions. It’s a tricky course for horses who get back in the field.

Race 2 (1.08 pm AEST) 3YO Handicap (1400m)
In form. Exceed The Sale was solid last time when beaten by a handy one. Eagle Farm and Doomben winner before that. Drawn to get the right run. This looks like his race.

Race 4 (2.18 pm AEST) Benchmark 72 Handicap (1350m)
Good last time, gets 3kg claim. Strada Varenna was back to form for trainer Tony Gollan at Eagle Farm. She won well with 57kg. Suited by the 3kg claim for in-form Bella Youngberry..

Race 7 (4.07 pm AEST) Open Handicap (1400m)
Ready to win, good Sydney form. Grand Impact was scratched from Sydney for this. He’s been solid his past three without winning. This is more to his liking.

Morphettville Parks Saturday Race Tips
Track rated Soft 5 on Wednesday. Rail out 3m from 1000m to the winning post. True the rest.
Stable weather in Adelaide from Wednesday to Saturday. The track should be in the good range.

South Australia’s home of racing, Morphettville Racing Track, incorporates two tracks in the state capital's southern suburbs.
The main “outside” course is spacious and fair. The Morphettville Parks course is on the inside of the main track and can favour horses that race on the pace.

Race 3 (1.32 pm SA time) Benchmark 78 Handicap (1250m)
In great form. The Cosmic One led and cruised home at Morphettville (1200m) on August 29. He won twice on this Parks track before that. Getting up in the weights. H=e has won on firm going.

Race 8 (4.35 pm SA time) 0-64 Handicap (1400m)
Distance suits. Her two runs from a spell have been sound behind the classy Pretty Baby. She has won on this track over 1000m, but she is shaping as though 1400m will suit her.

Race 9 (5.12 pm SA time) Benchmark 72 Handicap (1400m)
Fitter, distance suits. Dirty Old Town beat Freedom Flame and Bootlegger over this course and trip last time in and then finished third in the Listed Morphettville Guineas (1600m). She will be better for her last run. Bet each-way.

Belmont Saturday Race Tips
Track rated Soft 5 on Wednesday. Rail true.
Warm on Wednesday and Thursday, but rain on Friday and showers on Saturday. Do your selections for a soft track.
Belmont Racecourse Track Overview
After summer and autumn racing at Ascot, Perth metropolitan racing moves to nearby Belmont for winter racing. The wide course proper allows for multiple rail positions and the sandy track profile that caters for the winter wet. Belmont is a tightish track with a 1699m circumference and a 333m straight.

Race 3 (2.39 pm WA time) Rating 72+ Handicap (1200m)
Down in class. In form Ginnivan drops in class from his second behind Haida Gwali in last week’s Nicopolis over this course. If he handles the back-up, he should win.

Race 4 (3.20 pm WA time) Benchmark 84+ Handicap (1600m)
Distance suits. The smart Royal Toronado ran on strongly for second behind Too Hardy in the Farnley Stakes (1400m). He will be fitter, and 1600m is more to his liking.

Race 6 (4.25 pm WA time) Rating 66+ (1400m)
Promising. Truly Royal wears the Bob and Sandra Peters colours, and he looks to be another good one for the leviathan owners.
