Saturday Racing Tips – 13 December

Pakenham Saturday Race Tips

Track rating Soft 5 on Thursday. Rail out 2m

Showers expected on race day. Likely Good 4-Soft 5 surface, but watch the weather.

Pakenham Racecourse Track Overview

Victoria’s newest racecourse, Southside Pakenham, is a spacious, state-of-the-art course, with wide sweeping turns and a long straight, which gives every horse a chance. This week features the $300k Listed Pakenham Cup (2500m) and the $1m Supernova (1400m) slot race. Discover Pakenham race tips at this historic racecourse, backed by Australia’s leading horse racing experts.

Race 6 (3.05 pm AEST) Benchmark 84 Handicap (1600m)

Fitter, distance suits. The promising Madiyya will be better for her first-up fifth at Cranbourne. Bigger track suits and she gets out to 1600m. She’s a winner second-up and a Caulfield winner over this distance.

Racing Tip: Madiyya

Race 7 (3.45 pm AEST) Pakenham Cup (2500m)

Distance suits. Skippers Canyon blew the start at Caulfield and got outpaced before running home hard late. The Stokes stable has a big opinion of him and have stepped him out to 2500m in a tougher race. He’s a raw talent who drops 5.5kg.

Racing Tip: Skippers Canyon

Race 8 (5.05 pm AEST) Supernova (1400m)

Class factor. Private Eye, the winner of more than $12 million, is the highest rated horse in this slot race and he’s perfectly suited over 1400m on soft ground, if the rain arrives.

Racing Tip: Private Eye

Race 9 (5.05 pm AEST) VOBIS Gold Bullion (1400m)

Unlucky last time. Persian Spirit, who is also our tip to win The Ingham in Sydney, in which he is first emergency, has the perfect back-up race at Pakenham. The big track suits his big finish. Stiff not to win at Caulfield.

Racing Tip: Persian Spirit (best bet)

Randwick Saturday Race Tips

Track rating Good 4 on Wednesday. Rail true.

Up to 25-30mm of rain is predicted each day for Thursday and Friday, and some showers on Saturday. This track will at least be slow, possibly heavy if all the measurements are met.

Randwick Racecourse Track Overview

Sydney’s premier racetrack, Royal Randwick. Owned and operated by the Australian Turf Club, Randwick is home to the The Everest, Doncaster Handicap and Sydney Cup. This week features five Group races headed by the $2 million G2 The Ingham (1600m). Discover Randwick race tips, backed by Australia’s leading horse racing experts.

Race 1 (12.30 pm AEST) Benchmark 78 (1600m)

Distance suits, fitter. Deal N’ Dash resumed with a solid fourth at Hawkesbury over 1300m. Gets out to a more suitable 1600m and won’t mind a likely wet track.

Racing Tip: Deal N’ Dash.

Race 4 (2.15 pm AEST) Benchmark 78 (1200m)

Good fresh, likes the wet. Ciaron Maher’s resumes from a spell in a suitable race. He is a winner first-up and both his wins have been on the soft and heavy. He gets those conditions from a good draw, and Nash Rawiller rides.

Racing Tip: Axius.

Race 6 (3.25 pm AEST) Benchmark 88 (1800m)

Likes it wet. Rotagilla comes off a solid 1800m win at Rosehill when he carried 59kg. That was his first win on firm ground. He gets back onto his preferred soft/heavy and he drops 2.5kg. Very honest. Bet each-way.

Racing Tip: Rotagilla (best bet).

Race 8 (4.45 pm AEST) The Ingham (1600m)

Exciting prospect. First emergency Persian Spirit comes from Warrnambool with an outstanding record. Big win from well back on soft ground at Flemington on Cup Day, and stiff not to beat Here To Shock in the Testa Rossa at Caulfield. Likes it soft and 1600m is perfect. All he needs is to get a start.

Racing Tip: Persian Spirit.

Eagle Farm Saturday Race Tips

Track rated Soft 5 on Wednesday. Rail out 1m.

Minimal showers predicted. This track should play at a Good 4.

Eagle Farm Racecourse Track Overview

The Queensland summer racing series continues at Eagle Farm racecourse. Spacious and fair, Eagle Farm is Brisbane’s premier track. Home of the Brisbane Cup and Stradbroke Handicap.

The week features the $300k The Gateway (1400m). Discover Eagle Farm race tips, backed by Australia’s leading horse racing experts.

Race 3 (1.23 pm Qld Time) 2YO Handicap (1000m)

Form line. One Day At A Time comes from Melbourne with the Magic Millions 2YO Classic as her target. Strong to the line at her debut at Flemington. Had a soft trial at the Gold Coast. In the clever McEvoy stable. Take the tip.

Racing Tip: One Day At A Time (best bet)

Race 8 (4.32 pm Qld Time) The Gateway (1400m)

Forgive last run. El Morzillo has an average strike rate of three wins from 19 starts, but on her day she is very capable. Blew the start last time, forgive. Better for two runs from a spell and the 1400m should suit her get-back style. Bet each-way.

Racing Tip: El Morzillo

Race 9 (5.10 pm Qld Time) Just Now Stakes (1300m)

Good fresh. Countyourblessings resumes after two trials in Sydney for O’Shea and Charlton. Back in June she was an excellent second in the Gai Waterhouse at Ipswich. Two wins and a second when first-up. Worth a place at good odds from a good draw.

Racing Tip: Countyourblessings

Gawler Saturday Race Tips

Track rated Good 4 on Thursday. Rail true.

Warm weather from Wednesday to Saturday. The track will remain in the Good range.

Sportsbet Gawler Racecourse Track Overview

One South Australia’s premier provincial racetrack that hosts the occasional Saturday metropolitan meeting. Gawler is a tight track with a tricky home turn, and a short straight. Discover Gawler race tips, backed by Australia’s leading horse racing experts. Morphettville Parks is the tighter inner track.

Race 7 (4.07 pm SA time) Benchmark 76 (1200m)

Hot form. Ginger Sinner followed a Parks win with an impressive win in the Riziz Series Final (1200m) at Morphettville, when he overcame a wide draw. Same jockey, same 3kg claim. Hard to beat.

Racing Tip: Ginger Sinner (best bet).

Race 8 (4.47pm SA time) Benchmark 64 (1700m)

Distance suits, track lover. Dunreal dominated the betting and dominated his rivals to win a 1500m Class 1 at Gawler last month. He will appreciate the 1700m.

Racing Tip: Dunreal.

Race 9 (5.30 pm SA time) 0-64 Handicap (1500m)

Fitter, track winner. Cielao was dominant at Morphettville Parks (1400m) last start, when she led. Won well over 1200m on this track in October. Drawn to lead again.

Racing Tip: Cielao.

Ascot Saturday Race Tips

Track rated Good 4 on Wednesday. Rail our 3m.

The weather report is hot and warm. Expect the track to be a Good 4 or firmer.

Ascot Racecourse Track Overview

Perth’s premier track used throughout the late spring, summer and early autumn. Home to the Railway Stakes, Winterbottom Stakes and Perth Cup.

It’s summer carnival time, and this week features the state's premier sprint, the $1.5m The Gold Rush (1400m). Discover Ascot race tips, backed by Australia’s leading horse racing experts.

Race 5 (2.28 pm WA time) Black Heart Bart Stakes (1200m)

Down in class, well weighted. Repossession comes back to 3YO grade after finishing last, albeit beaten only 3.9 lengths, in the G1 Winterbottom Stakes. Twice placed behind Jokers Grin before that. He’s nicely weighted under the set weights & penalties conditions.

Racing Tip: Repossession (best bet).

Race 9 (5.00 pm WA time) The Gold Rush (1400m)

Perfect barrier. Rey Magnerio is untried at 1400m, but the way he finished off his race when third in the G1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) suggests he should have no troubles, especially after drawing barrier five. Willie Pike rides. Bet each-way.

Racing Tip: Rey Magnerio.

Saturday Racing Tips - Bet of the Day

Randwick Race 6: Rotagilla.

Saturday Racing Tips - Value Bet of the Day

Ascot Race 9: Rey Magnerio.

Saturday Racing Tips - Multi

Pakenham: Race 6 (12. Madiyya, win), Race 7 (16. Skippers Canyon, place), Race 8 (3. Private Eye, win), Race 9 (7. Persian Spirit, win).

Saturday Race Tips – Jockey to Follow

Pakenham: Craig Williams

Williams can win the first race and the Supernova at Pakenham, and there’s some value in his other rides on the card.

Randwick: Tim Clark

We are tipping Clark can ride at least a treble at Randwick on Saturday.
