After a near-month break and continued speculation about its future, LIV Golf is back on the sporting calendar this week, with the event taking place from the USA.
Trump National Golf Club, Washington, D.C. Championship Course in Northern Virginia, will host the LIV Golf Virginia event this year. Action is scheduled to get underway on May 7 (local time).
Quick Picks
- Our pick: Rahm in the each-way to win
- Value bet: DeChambeau as an each-way to win
- Long shot: Detry as an each-way to win
Betting Preview
The Championship Course is a par-72 layout that, depending on tournament setup, can stretch significantly, with some professional configurations reaching nearly 7,700 yards. Holes 4 and 11 have been pinpointed as the ones that pose the greatest challenges for players for various reasons.
Last year's edition of the event (Robert Trent Jones Golf Club) was won by Joaquín Niemann, as he claimed his sixth win on the Tour. He has won just once since then, although he wasn't on the team that had won in 2025. That honour was held by Legion XIII, with Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt, and Tom McKibbin the four players.
It's worth noting that the team had won the last event played, LIV Golf Mexico City, with Rahm winning by two shots after recording 7-under. In winning, the Spaniard claimed his fourth win in LIV Golf, bookending back-to-back victories by Bryson DeChambeau after winning in Hong Kong before the American's wins in Singapore and South Africa.
Betting Markets to Watch
Rahm will be worth watching in the betting odds for value, as he has plenty of upside to offer at this golf course. As noted, he'll enter on the back of a win in Mexico City, while his consistent ability to finish in the top 10 and the elite ball-striking skills he possesses are well-suited for the challenging, long Championship Course at Trump National.
As a powerful hitter who excels on longer setups, DeChambeau is naturally suited for the Championship Course at Trump National. His recent performances will have his odds perhaps a little shorter, but there's still some value to consider, given his ability.
Hatton is another to pay attention to in the betting regarding value, as his strong play off the tee and recent high-level performances suggest he has a fair chance of winning this contest. He has also been one of the most consistent on the LIV circuit in 2026.
Our Prediction

Our prediction is that Rahm will be the likely winner. He has been consistent and enters in positive form.
We think DeChambeau will offer value as the next-likely to win, while Thomas Detry could offer long shot value. He has transitioned well into the LIV Golf format this year, with his consistent ball-striking and ability to go low on challenging courses suggesting he has a chance if he finds his rhythm.
