Let’s find out, shall we?

Keep reading this guide to find out exactly how do Bonus Bets work, what they are and how they get paid out.

What is a Bonus Bet?

A Bonus Bet is essentially like a voucher or a token that equates to a specific dollar value that you are able to use to place bets with.

For further Bonus Bet information please refer to Sportsbet’s weekly specials It is important to note that a Bonus Bet is not reflective of your account balance, as it is a completely separate balance.

This means that when you are placing a bet and selecting your stake, please do not confuse your personal funds with your Bonus Bet balance.

How do Bonus Bets Work?

The way Bonus Bets work is extremely straightforward. To use a Bonus Bet, enter your selection into your bet slip, you will then see an option to use a Bonus Bet on your selection if you are wagering on an eligible market.

How to Get a Bonus Bet on Sportsbet

The important thing to remember here is that you must be betting on an eligible market. Bonus Bets are not applied randomly and are not available on every market. Whether you’re looking at a multi bet or line betting, the markets are all that matters in this case.

If Bonus Bets are not eligible for the market you are trying to wager on, there will be no Bonus Bet button available on your bet slip.

How to Use a Bonus Bet in Sportsbet

If you are wagering on a Bonus Bet eligible market, after selecting the Bonus Bet box in your bet slip a pop-up box will appear with your available Bonus Bets. Select the one you wish to use, place your bet and you’re off to the races!

If you do have Bonus Bets, it’s important to remember they carry an expiration date. A Bonus Bet must be used within seven days from the time that it is credited to your account.

Any available Bonus Bets you currently have associated to your Sportsbet account will have an expiry time displayed with them when you view them.

How are Bonus Bets Paid Out?

When you place a successful wager using a Bonus Bet it is important to note that the winnings will be calculated slightly differently from a standard cash bet.

A bet placed with a Bonus Bet will pay out the winnings minus the Bonus Bet stake. For example, if you placed a $20 Bonus Bet at odds of $10 your winnings would be $180.

Below is a breakdown of how the bonus bet payout is calculated.

$20 (Bonus Bet Stake) x $10 (Odds) = $200.
You then subtract the stake of the bet.
$200 (Payout) - $20 (Bonus Bet Stake) = $180.

So, there you have it. Those are the basic ins and outs of Bonus Bets and how they work. Now you know what to do when it comes to Bonus Bets all thanks to Sportsbet.
