West Coast Eagles vs Port Adelaide Power Prediction - Round 13 2026

05/06/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

This Saturday night for Round 13 of the AFL Season, Optus Stadium plays host to a rematch between West Coast Eagles and the Port Adelaide Power.

If you listened to the preseason consensus, the Eagles were in every punter's wooden spoon column, understandably too - as they managed to get through 2025 with only one win.

But no one remembered to tell the Kids in the West, and they entered this match at 15th, just above the 16th placed Power on the ladder.

Meanwhile, the narrative over at Alberton is taking a much darker turn. Port Adelaide had a chance to reload during their Round 12 bye, but they arrive at Optus Stadium stewing over a painful four-match losing streak.

Their most recent outing was an underwhelming 92-58 loss against Carlton on their own turf. The pressure is mounting on the Power to arrest this slide before their campaign completely slips away from them.

History tells us that these two clubs have plenty of recent data to unpack. West Coast already shocked the Power earlier this year with a thrilling 92-90 victory over them at the Adelaide Oval in Round three.

Can the surging Eagles complete a famous season double over Port?

Or will Power come back with a vengeance after a needed bye-round break?

Either way, this young West Coast squad is quickly becoming everyone’s second team.

West Coast Eagles vs Port Adelaide Power Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The market reckons that Port will comfortably bounce back to the winners' list on foreign soil. We say not so fast.

Regular readers will know we have to swallow a delicious slice of humble pie here, as we originally pegged West Coast as wooden spoon favourites, if not absolute morals.

Instead, they have won great football matches and you can clearly see them building a formidable squad.

The emerging core of Harley Reid, Willem Duursma, Jobe Shanahan, and Tom McCarthy forms a beautiful foundation for the next great Eagles era.

Duursma was absolutely box office against the Bombers last week, collecting 25 disposals and booting a goal to reinforce his surging Rising Star credentials.

Combined with Jake Waterman's clinical form up forward, the Eagles possess the necessary scoring power to exploit a fragile Port Adelaide defensive unit. Waterman was lethal last weekend with three majors and will look to carry that dominant energy forward.

For the visitors, everything relies on their top-end star power clicking into gear early. The midfield battle between Zak Butters and West Coast lockdown specialist Brady Hough will go a long way toward deciding this contest.

Additionally, how the Eagles choose to negate the explosive transition play of Jason Horne-Francis will be critical to the final scoreline.

Horne-Francis was monumental in Port's last defeat with 32 disposals and three goals, but he can’t do it completely on his own.

We expect the home crowd to carry the energetic Eagles across the line in a thriller.

Head-to-head prediction: Eagles by 10 points.

First Goal Scorer Prediction

We’re tipping teen sensation Harley Reid to kickstart the party in the West.

His confidence is sky-high after a goal of the year contender in Round 12 against Essendon. The kid will have ups and downs throughout his career – but at the moment he’s in form and looking the goods.

Expect Reid to drift forward early and find a mark inside 50. Harley Reid is a great value pick to open the scoring in this one.

Betting tip: Harley Reid first goal scorer.

Most Disposals Prediction

Port Adelaide superstar Zak Butters is our clear choice to dominate the stat sheet and accumulate the most leather on Saturday night.

He remains the most influential player on either side of the field in this clash.

Even throughout Port's shaky 2026 campaign, Butters as well as Georgiades and Horne-Francis have been vital to any success they’ve had this year.

Expect Butters to pick up a mountain as he tries to single-handedly drag his team back into the contest.

Betting tip: Zak Butters most disposals.
