Open to plenty of improvement and is expected to feature in the finish. SHEPHERD (6) is progressing well this preparation. Opened with a fifth at Fairgrounds (Dirt) two starts back then landed the prize by 1.3 lengths last time out after being in the firing line on the bend over 1673m at Fairgrounds (Dirt). Must raise the bar but another win beckons. LEAR (2) doesn't win out of turn but ran a strong race last time out over 1710m at this track (Dirt), finishing second and beaten 1.75 lengths. Well placed and should be about the money.
