MALTESE CROSS (6) landed a novice event under a penalty at Newbury three weeks ago on what looks to be a really informative contest given a couple of those in behind that day have run since and performed respectably. Looks exciting and could prove hard to beat. MAHO BAY (5) remained unbeaten both starts while looking visually impressive at Newmarket three weeks ago. Well worth his place in this Derby trial. ISAAC NEWTON (4) needed the run at Newmarket competing in the Craven meeting. Might be a different proposition here. BAY OF BRILLIANCE (3) was a comfortable winner under a penalty at Redcar in October. Interesting.
