ALMERILLO (7) made light work of them here last start, cruising home by four lengths to bring up back-to-back wins. He has the early toe to roll forward again and control the race, and on current form, he’s going to take plenty of catching. A LO MEJOR (2) hasn’t shown his best in two runs back from a break, including a midfield finish at Valparaiso, but this is a far more suitable assignment, and he’s capable of sharp improvement. GRAN MANUEL (6) took a nice step forward last time when finishing a narrow second over 1100m and looks to be trending the right way. A repeat of that effort puts him right in the frame. TATARISTAN (1) resumes after a short break and was competitive fresh last campaign, placing over this track and trip. Now with Francisco Acevedo R., he’s one of the better chances if he returns in similar order.
