Returned to best form a month ago winning by 4.5L among this chase company (a previous leg of the series) over course and distance. Ticks all the right boxes. Leading contender. FUGITIF (2) won the 2023 December Gold Cup here and was third in the renewal of the highlight event of this weekend. Ran fifth behind the top pick last month and holding ability may go close. COPPERHEAD (6) recorded a neck runner-up effort in this 2024 contest. With seven chase wins maintains big claims. COURTLAND (5) was a close second tackling 4800m at Sandown five weeks ago. Looks one to note.
