Look for 1 to lead 13, 3 and 4. Some interesting first-uppers in the race. PUNTIN comes off two steady trials. Hasn't offered a poor run as yet to so will have plenty of fans. CAPTAIN FURAI has been in the market and winless across his latest two preps. Trials fine. ANTHRACITE comes to Joe Pride from South Australia. More distance preferred but the two trials have been very soft and I wouldn't be too surprised if he can offer something decent fresh. CROSS TASMAN looked like an odds-on chance winning on Boxing Day. Surged clear and won softly but the prospect of sitting wide without cover looms again as he has drawn the outside barrier this time too.
