GANGSTER PARADISE was sent off favourite on debut and finished close up, but immediately sent for a break. Two jumpouts back ran home nicely and it was a quick heat at Cranbourne. SHALAAKEI struck a fast run 1200m maiden (1:09.96) on debut on soft 5. First two spaced third, so beaten margin is not so bad. Definitely will be suited by the longer trip and thought he had trialled better on firmer ground. CZECH REPUBLIC has been running on over shorter distances and the tongue tie applied. MY MATE TOM was running on at end of 1200m on debut so the longer journey is a plus. LADY OF BRONTE ran in stronger maiden on debut and will have taken benefit from the run.
