SNEAK PEEK (11) dropped back to a mile and never got warm in the Aotearoa Classic at Ellerslie last week. She is much better placed over this trip, and she has no problem with a wet track. She only needs the gaps at the right time to be a winning threat here. Stick with her. THE PRECURSOR (5) is a very progressive gelding, who was brave off a wide gate at Ellerslie nearly 3 weeks ago. He will relish steeping up to 2100m, and as a big horse, he just needs plenty of space to wind up. Hard to beat. ROCTAVE (3) did not cope with the quick backup when failing to fire as the favourite at Ellerslie in his penultimate start, and was much better when finishing fifth at Pukekohe nearly 2 weeks ago. Stick with him here. Each way value. SHAKING STEVENS (1) had a tough trip in the Kumara Nuggets 3 weeks ago, after winning the Timaru Cup in tough fashion before that. He is worth another chance. NOT SO UNUSUAL (14) is very promising, and should not be risked. UNCLE ARCH (2) has to be respected.
