ARCTIC JEWEL (6) has had 4 starts to date after showing promise at the trials, and she has been a beaten favourite in 3 of those runs, as well as finishing fifth when heavily backed at Matamata 2 weeks ago. The key here is dropping back to 1000m, and with the aid of a 2kg claim in a soft field, she is the one to beat. PROUD CAPITALIST (7) was put aside after a couple of runs earlier in the season and resumes with a recent trial under her belt. She won a 900m trial at Te Rapa prior to her debut and is sure to be ready to rumble in this field. SO WE GO (3) showed his first sign of form when finishing third here 5 weeks ago. He is still on the weak side, but can figure in the top 4 again. MAY WIRTH (8) was placed in a trial earlier in the season and makes her debut in an even field. Let the market be the best guide. OPTIMUS PRIME (2) has raced greenly in both of his starts to date, and once he puts it all together, he should pick up a race. Include in all top 4 combos.
