A fascinating off-season sprint here and plenty of pace in the race. Was pretty keen on BIG PAPA a fortnight ago and now I just want to see what he can do on a drier track. ROYAL FLARE won to expectations 1st-up in Melbourne. This will be much tougher to win but the fact trainer Brendan McCarthy aims at the race is worth respecting. BENEVAC should be better for the return behind COUPLES RETREAT and can see him tracking up beautifully in the run today. GORGEOUS is in earlier and needs a couple of scratchings here but she should be suited back onto dry and can appear late.
