KIWI MAGIC (9) was given no chance last time out with a passive early ride, and he is much better than that. He can settle closer from the pole position, and he is more than capable of taking this out. OAKSDEEL (3) has found it hard to win another race, but will have the services of Bruno Queiroz this time, which can make all the difference. Each way claims. TAIMATE STAAR (7) was an overdue maiden winner at Ashburton in her penultimate start, and then was a brave third there last time out. She is an honest type, with top 3 claims again. VENDABELLE (11) gets out to a suitable trip for her third start in the South Island, and stepping up from 1600m to 1800m is the key this time. Stick with her. Can win. SAUVAGE (5) is capable of a form reversal.
