Rain fell quite hard on Monday evening and left this track rated Heavy 9 as acceptances were taken on Wednesday morning. Some more rain to come as well but perhaps not enough to get us further downgraded? Raceday itself is forecast to be a sunny 20 degrees so we'll be improving on the day. We get started with a fairly lacklustre 2YO event. 7 and 8 to set the pace. DEFENSEMEN mixed it in decent company earlier in the year and made quite a pleasing return. Inside draw should be OK?? Newcomer PROXIMA DEA improved in her latest trial to finish 2nd and I think she was on-speed but you could hardly see that through the fog.
