On pace runners, 1, 2, 4, 7, 11. PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL was dominant on debut at Scone before he was also then dominant last start on the Illawarra Grange track at Kembla Grange when he was joined by Zac Lloyd. He should now have more to offer at his home base with Zac retaining the ride. SPHERE opened her account three starts ago when she was resuming at Newcastle and she must be forgiven for defeats since at Canterbury and then on this track. There were excuses on both occasions. BLITZGAL was a dual acceptor for this meeting. There were excuses for an unplaced first up Canterbury effort and she clearly has scope to improve today. SKY DECK shouldn't be harshly judged for an unplaced effort at Warwick Farm when he was attempting to notch a hat-trick last start. He's better suited here at his home base today.
