On pace runners, 2, 4, 5, 9. ROCKET GIRL kept trying in defeat after she conceded too great a start over 1100m at Hawkesbury in a race that's produced very strong subsequent form. She begins her second campaign today after a lead-up home based Rosehill trial and she's suitably placed in this class first up. CONSULATE was resuming over this distance when there were excuses for her defeat at Canterbury. She clearly has scope to improve second up. WOODENBRIDGE was solid first up in the same race last contested by CONSULATE and she can only now present race-fitter. LONE PIPER must be forgiven for her unplaced effort on debut when she also contested that same race as CONSULATE last start. She struck traffic problems on the day.
