Pace should be fair with Smokin' Romans coming across to lead or sit just off the stablemate Ziryab. Black Run should get a good run just off those two. SKIPPERS CANYON has been slow away in both runs this time in but has closed strongly each time. He's likely to concede a start but he looks like he'll measure up to this class. ZIRYAB meets BLACK RUN two kilos better for a nose defeat at Caulfield. Both have claims again. ALENQUER (fourth) and ETNA ROSSO (third) fought on okay in the Zipping Classic. STATUARIO backs up after improving into the placings in the Ballarat Cup.
