ARGO (4) broke his maiden status in style last time out at Te Aroha when scoring by 3 lengths. That was his first start over 1400m, and he will be even better once he gets out over more ground. He cops a wide gate, but can repeat the dose. COOL 'N' FAST (1) has been crying out for more ground in all of his 3 starts since resuming from a spell, and with Craig Grylls in the saddle this time, he should go close to taking this out, especially racing over 1400m for the first time. KIA KAHA (2) lifted late and drove hard to finish runner-up by a nose at Arawa Park a fortnight ago. She won her debut here, and despite drawing a nasty gate, she can still figure in the top 3 again. MULAN ARDECHE (9) made progress last prep over a winter campaign, and she resumes without a trial. Her best form will be over a longer journey, but while fresh, she can pinch a race like this. CROWN PRINCESS (6) is a promising lightly tried mare resuming from a spell with 3 trials under her belt. Watch closely.
