NORTHERN CHILD may have to be ridden cold from the outside alley but has closed well over 1200m at his first two attempts and should relish the rise to 1600m. TIMMIE LAD failed to finish off at his second attempt but was close up on debut and should get every chance to bounce back from the inside alley. His stablemate SEND ME GOLD closed well when resuming before having little luck from a wide gate second up. STRIDING BAY disappointed at Hobart but had looked close to breaking through prior.
