1100m maiden. Fifteen can run, I would suggest that is highly unlikely to be the case. So, one has no choice but to wait and see what the final field is. As things stand there are four on debut, they have all had at least one recent public trial. As things stand there are four 1st-up from a spell. As things stand Matthew Dunn is good for three, that may become four. Mind you wasn't that long ago Dunn scratched all four from one race so don;t bet on three running, let alone a full house. And as things stand Troy Pascoe is good for two. No's 1 and 7 look to be the pace. For now I am giving RUM AND KIRK, CARPET RIDE, ASHKIRK, along with the newcomer FRENCH MELODY which draws favourably and trialed close 3rd (to subsequent Grafton winner, Zalique) then close 4th to Why Wait which won at its only outing to date. Note Dunn has three of the aforementioned in my thoughts, two don't yet have a rider. Join the dots? Pour a wine?
