JASON DARREN said an immediate 'no thankyou' to the barrier and stepped away. I have 9 and 15 leading 13, 10 and 7. Mikayla Weir was working on OAKFIELD ALASKA 600m from home last start and the gelding only ran down the leader in the shadows. He looks pretty good, and he should find a handier position in this field. Interesting that Weir has also been on BREUKELEN for his back-to-back wins as well. Presumably Rachel King has him trailing quite handy here. LAIZABOUT has been consistent in defeat throughout the prep. OLYMPIAN drops from stakes races but whether the wide barrier and big weight are a combo they want to run with....well, we'll see.
