The Chairman's is for the stayers with some looking towards a Brisbane Cup start a few weeks down the track. Nos.1, 3, 5 & 8 look the most likely to roll forward. She's definitely not the best horse in this race however NELLIE LAYLAX may well be the best placed under the likely conditions. She doesn't go a yard on dry ground so the wetter the better for her & she drops 5.5kg on her strong closing Eagle Farm 1825m 2nd last start. MIDDLE EARTH ran 3rd in last years Melbourne Cup, fitter third up just may struggle a little if too wet? ALALCANCE & JUST FINE both chances on their better form.
