Expecting rain on race day after drizzle during the week. The track is likely to be around the soft 7 mark. Of those we've seen race, none have led, so it's tricky to predict the speed. Among the raced, CARNEVALE was a close fourth as a $3.80 favourite on Melbourne Cup day while CRANK had no trouble with the heavy track at Terang on debut. OBAMBULATE was sound on the Heath track on debut before scoring at Pakenham. Craig Williams was on board both times and retains the mount. Of the unraced, MONUMENTUM was ridden out to win a trial comfortably on May 14. VIVID STORM was okay in a May 22 trial.
