SOTOMAYOR will be fitter for two runs back from a spell and battled on well last start placing over the trip. Only other 1400m was on heavy ground and still went well. Latest race was about five lengths quicker than the other BM56 on the card. POETIC WHISPER was kept up to mark in Geelong jump out when 2nd to Dimora Queen (3 wins), but they spaced third. Has had an excellent preparation racing in this distance range. DIVINE TURF came from a long way back in fast run race last start. Top senior takes over. ROYAL INFANTRY was working home up fence, but had to slam on the breaks when horse lays in badly from its outside. Did seem better blinkered up again. Chances don't end there.
