LOVACI (1) had been battling this prep before winning her penultimate start at Arawa Park, and then finishing sixth, without much luck, there last time out. She tries a middle distance for the first time, and with a placing already on this track at her only start, she is the one to beat. SKYMAX (3) ran on late to finish fifth last time out at Te Rapa, and she was less than 2 lengths from the winner that day. She has been placed at her only run on this surface, and the extra 400m will suit her down to the ground. Each way. PROMETHEUS (2) will find this easier than her first 2 runs this prep, and his last run was in open company from a wide gate. He gets a big swing in his draw this time, and more importantly, he has not missed a cheque in 5 runs here which includes 1 win. A form reversal is on the cards. MELKOR (5) fought on gamely for fifth at Ellerslie last time out, and was a game third at Avondale before that. His only win came here, so stick with him. TARZADOR (7)
