BLACK RUTILE dropped rider at start and "led" at Kerang. Winner ran extraordinarily fast time and while carrying no weight this gelding went with the winner missing by a whisker. Ran 13 lengths quicker than BM56 winner. Sure to have improved with the 1800m "gallop". MR RIBTICKLER did enough on debut when leading on the big Terang track in a run-on race to suggest the 1800 on the turning track here could be within his capability. MONTANA ROSE has been running in maidens at stronger provincial venues. Slow out last time, draws low, hopefully holds spot and has a good 3kg claim. CHICKY WA WA led at a solid tempo last start. Up in trip but tempo of longer journey might suit.
