10 and 12 withdraw leaving a dozen over the 1600m. Look for speed from 5 and 8. WHISTLER GIRL has locked into some good form recently (since reverting from 2000m) and we should expect she can find quite a low pressure on-speed run. 3:1:2 from 8 for Christine Puls and in a race like this such stats can't be ignored. VIRTUCON made good ground on her her last start but close defeats are what you get sometimes when you settle so far back. HIDDEN WITNESS has been all around a win since joining this stable (last August). He's going to be settling at the opposite end of the field though. You'd like BALTIC WAY to jump cleanly for the 4 kilo apprentice but we'll see about that; he misses it more often than not.
