KING MASTER (9) is the clear horse to beat after putting away Mighty Shone at this track four weeks ago, winning by just under two lengths as a short odds-on favourite. He is third-up, has two wins and two placings from six starts at this track and distance, and his broader record of four wins and four placings from eleven starts gives him the strongest overall profile. WORLD BLAME (6) has a much thinner winning record, but his one win and eight placings from 14 starts at this track and distance make him a genuine threat, especially after working home fairly first-up over 1600m. VICTORY SOCKS (3) brings the more progressive profile, having run second over 1600m last start after a third the run prior, and he did beat World Blame at this track about a month ago, though 1800m is new ground. FLYING CRUISER (5) resumes from an eight-month break with strong track-and-distance figures, but he has to put a heavy final-run defeat from last campaign behind him.
