RAON FLORENCE (9) has the strongest winning profile, with five wins and five placings from 11 attempts at around 1200m and an excellent overall record of five wins from 12 starts. He was beaten six lengths in Open grade over 1400m last time, but the return to his preferred distance and the class relief make him the horse to beat. MIGHTY JOY (5) comes off a fighting half-length win over Concord Blue at this track and has won three times at the track and distance, although he does carry more weight now. SPALTA (11) has been honest with consecutive thirds and his 1200m record keeps him right in the contest, even if Raon Florence had his measure two starts ago. SPARK THUNDER (8) resumes after winning strongly over 1600m before the break and has four wins from nine attempts around this trip, so she has the profile to run well fresh if ready to produce first-up.
