BENE SPIRA (8) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing fourth and beaten only 2.5 lengths over 2000m at Nakayama after being prominent at the bend. Honest type who will go forward and deserves a win. DEAN'S LISTER (10) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Chukyo but couldn't back it up last start when sixth, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 2200m at Chukyo after being in the firing line on the corner. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. DANON ATLAS (12) lines up for the first time since February 22. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 2000m at this track. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race. MEINER AURUM (1) finished 3 lengths away in fourth at his last appearance over 2000m at Fukushima on April 19. Expected to feature in the finish this time.
