MER D'ETOILES (4) sets the standard after being beaten a neck on debut at this track, where she was near the top of betting and already showed she handles the 2000m. The move from NEWCOMER into Mdn grade and a leading jockey-trainer pairing strengthen her case to go one better. GOLDEN PROMISE (6) has the next most appealing profile: a ¥209m purchase who closed nicely into third at this venue, beaten a length and a half, and should take benefit from that first race experience, although 2000m is new. TOP OF DREAM (1) brings a bigger-field Hanshin debut second behind Nero Noir and draws to get an economical run from barrier 1. PHYSOSTEGIA (2) was unwanted and only fair through the line on debut, but she has had three weeks between runs and can improve enough to be considered for the minor end.
