DANON CUBE (1) is favoured to rebound after starting deep odds-on at Sapporo and finishing fourth behind Romano Verite. Her debut second at Hakodate in 2yo NEWCOMER company showed enough early quality, and third-up with Yutaka Take back aboard gives her a strong platform despite 1600m being new. JOLLY EPICURE (5) brings the cleanest recent 1600m form, having closed off for second at Hanshin when sent out favourite, and natural improvement second-up makes her the main threat. BATIK (8) resumes after a debut second at Chukyo where she loomed and fought on, though she also has to prove herself at the mile. CONCERNO (2) was a generous-odds third on debut at Niigata, beaten just under two lengths, and profiles as a genuine improver rather than a dominant winning chance.
