KAFUJI UVA (4) returned from a break last start and raced on the speed before kicking strongly to score by half a length over 1400m at Sonoda. Tomohiro Yoshimura stays on and another bold showing is expected. HAGINO VERDON (7) progressed nicely last time out to score by 4 lengths as favourite over 1400m at Sonoda. Kenta Sugiura scored on him last time and retains the ride. This looks a sterner test than last time but on current form he is right in contention. RACHAEL PEGASUS (3) did a great job to score by one length over this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Taking on a better field but she is up to the task. HIGH LIFE (9) ran below expectations last time at Sonoda, finishing sixth. Can atone.
