CORLEONE (7) has resumed from his spell much stronger this season, and he was a determined winner last time at this track, scoring by a nose over this distance. He steps up in class for this, but the hat-trick beckons, especially with 6.5kg less to carry. KING LOTUS (3) was prominent from the outset when finishing runner-up over 1650m at this track last time out 6 weeks ago. Lyle Hewitson, who has scored on him twice, retains the mount. Another honest effort is on the cards. A AMERIC TE SPECSO (1) turned in a fine effort to score by almost a length at this course and distance last start in a much improved run. He cops a tougher gate, but he is always a top 4 chance at this level. FIVEFORTWO (8) did a great job to score by nearly a length here over this distance when first-up from a layoff last start. He is back up in class, but still has to be respected.
