SALAPHIEL (10) returned from a layoff last time out in a maiden steeplechase (2750m) at Fukushima, finishing fifth when partnered by today's rider Sho Ueno. Fitter and sure to improve. SILVER DUKE (5) could only manage to finish eighth 63 days back in a maiden steeplechase (3000m) at Tokyo. That result followed a solid third in a maiden steeplechase (2880m) at Nakayama two starts ago. Hard to fault on his best form. CLEAR QUARTZ (6) is a 17-start maiden yet to finish in the placings, last start finishing fourth in a maiden steeplechase (2910m) at Kyoto. Struggling to break through but is not to be underestimated on best figures. ANOTHER ACE (8) could only manage to finish fifth 28 days back in a maiden steeplechase (2910m) at Kyoto. That result was on the back of a solid third in a maiden steeplechase (2910m) at Kyoto two starts ago. Cannot be dismissed.
