LUX SPEI (11) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when 1.5 lengths away in third over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt when he was in the firing line all the way. Just missed this course and distance two back and can go one better. RED DUNLUCE (14) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just two wins from 21 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fourth over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt, beaten 2.25 lengths. Placed to advantage so expect a big run. DAISHIN LINK (3) started at $10 last time and ran below expectations, finishing eighth and beaten 4.5 lengths at Kyoto Dirt over 1400m. Nicely placed to make amends. POD DONNER (5) was well below best last time when seventh at Kyoto Dirt but change of rider today. Worth including on best form.
