QUANTUM WAVE (12) sat close to the pace last time out but faded to finish 13th, beaten 12 lengths over this journey at Kyoto Dirt. Form at this distance is strong with two wins from four starts. Much better than last run. Leading rider goes aboard and worth another chance. HANAUMA BEACH (3) is back at the races for the first time since October 13. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time. Unbeaten course and distance from two tries. Rates highly and is likely to be prominent. LITTLE HAPI (2) is a progressive galloper who is first-up since finishing sixth over 1800m at this track six months ago. Unbeaten in two starts when fresh. Should be prominent from the outset. WIDE BLIZZARD (8) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt, beaten 20 lengths after being prominent at the turn. Fitter so expect a better run this time.
