B B CLOSER (10) is a progressive three-year-old colt who hasn't raced since finishing second over 1800m in the Listed Hosu Stakes at Kyoto Dirt on May 30. Has never missed the frame when fresh from a spell in two starts. Ryusei Sakai who has two wins when partnering stays on. Has a distinct class edge. BOKU MADA NEMUIYO (4) ran well below his best last time over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt, beaten 7 lengths into fifth at $1.60. Change of rider to Atsuya Nishimura who has never been out of the money in three rides, including a win. Will strip fitter and is the obvious threat. SOUL AND JAZZ (8) made progress last time out, finishing 2 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 1800m at Hanshin Dirt after being in contention on the corner. Taking on a better line-up this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. BIRNBAUM (3) is back after a break of ten weeks. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Makes plenty of each-way appeal.
