POD VOLK (2) went forward and ran a much improved race last start but found one better over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt, beaten 0.8 lengths. Close to another win and will take catching. ARARE TABASHIRU (16) is also close to breaking through after three consecutive placings, the latest coming when third over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt. Wide draw and will need a good steer from Genki Maruyama. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is good enough to take this out. TAISEI MISSION (15) is yet to find the winners' list this time in work but has four placings from seven runs this campaign, finishing 0.8 lengths away in second most recently over 1700m at Fukushima Dirt. Should be involved in the finish. SHOSAN GEORGE (1) finished third when resuming two runs back at this track then progressed nicely last time out to score by 2.5 lengths over 1800m at Niigata Dirt. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run.
