CALEXICO (11) is progressive gelding who heads north after kicking off his campaign with a strong win at Bendigo. Will be fitter for that and while drawn out he is good enough to overcome that. SWEET STRIKE (4) has the hoof on the till having added to a string of placings at this circuit when missing narrowly from this barrier last week. Tries this longer distance for the first time but should enjoy a nice run. GOLDEN TRIBE (9) draws wide but has been ticking along well including back-to-back placings here last month, one in his lone try at this distance and the other from a wider barrier than this. FRANCO NOVELIST (10) cops a tough barrier this week but is race fit now and looks close to a win after back-to-back seconds here. WITHDISTINCTION (7) could feature again after finding winning form here last time out.
