A wide draw means LEAP TO FAME (6) will likely to have work but he is one horse we know can do that in a major and still win. Has been at his best in winning for the last three Saturdays, particularly in his Cranbourne Cup victory when he did it tough but was too strong for Kingman. Edged out after a hard run in this last year but won it in 2024. He looks to be in the right shape to do it again. New Zealand's best pacer REPUBLICAN PARTY (1) did a great job to get within 3m of Leap To Fame in last week's Kilmore Cup. That was his first outing for five weeks so he should be improved. Close third in this last year and from this draw he could stalk and be dangerous. SWAYZEE (2) has had his problems since leading to win this last year but he draws to find the front again. That could see him hard to get past. The barrier has dented the hopes of KINGMAN (10) but he overcame a tough draw to win last year's NZ Cup and holds a 3-2 head-to-head over Leap To Fame so could still find a way.
